Best of… EAPLAY @ E3 2017

Now Ea has a mixed record at E3, but one thing they can always count on is consistency. since they have annual sports titles, there’s always plenty to keep fans happy. Alas, this year, they’ve added some exciting extras to the fray…

A Way Out

From the new studio, Hazelight, mainly comprised of the creators of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, we get a fresh new IP with support from EA Originals. A Way Out is a whole new experience, an entirely co-op prison-break adventure where you and a friend take control of either Vincent or Leo, both having very distinguishable personalities, and execute a daring escape over and beyond the prison walls. The creator, Josef Fares, told fans that it can only be played on split screen, but does have both online and local co-op. Although he did go on to say he’d rather players played the game together on their couch. It’s an incredibly innovative game which will surely keep fans hyped for months to come.

A Way out will launch in early 2018.

Need For Speed Payback

This could be the closest thing we get to a Burnout sequel. Need For Speed Payback let’s you play as three different drivers (GTA V-style) and they actually have a female lead character out of those three. So slightly better than GTA there… ish. The gameplay trailer showcased at the event showed off some high-octane action with plenty of sweet rides to keep the petrolheads satisfied. Payback’s single-player campaign follows the story of Tyler, Jess and Mac as they set out to bring down The House.

Need For Speed Payback will be available on November 10 of this year.

Fifa 18 Story Mode: The Sequel

So the usual star of EA returned yet again this year, with a whole new cover star Cristiano Ronaldo. EA highlighted a bunch of tweaks to the gameplay mechanics and showed off some fancy visuals. The main point of interest which differs is the story mode, The Journey, that they introduced last year. FIFA 17 saw the start of Alex Hunter’s career in the Premier League. But you only got to play one season, so it was interesting to see where FIFA 18 would continue this story. And the answer to that is abroad… Not really what fans were hoping for, but still a natural progression.

FIFA 18 has a release date of September 29, 2017.

Star Wars Battlefront II

Star Wars Battlefront always felt unfinished. The main thing it was lacking was a story mode. Well, Battlefront fans prayers have finally been answered. Not only is Battlefront II getting a story mode, but it’s going to span three eras of Star Wars with legendary battles, AND it’s going to feature the planet revealed on the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer. You’ll get to play as Rey, Darth Maul, and in even better news, all DLC for Battlefront II will be free! With the first wave of DLC we will get Finn and Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens. So basically, EA have given us every Star Wars fan’s dream.

Star Wars Battlefront II will be released on November 17, 2017.
